At Movement Matters Physical Therapy, we work with people who want to live a healthy, active lifestyle but have limitations due to pain, movement disorders, dizziness, or Multiple Sclerosis. We offer one-on-one treatment sessions and listen to your concerns while focusing on your specific needs to create a personalized approach. Movement Matters offers physical therapy, wellness evaluations and treatment sessions at our Huntersville location and also provides concierge services in your home/office or gym upon request.

Dr. Cari Sgroi, PT, DPT, MSCS

Owner & Physical Therapist

Cari received her Bachelor's Degree in Exercise and Sport Science from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2009 and received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2012. She has spent the past eight years working in a hospital-based outpatient physical therapy clinic treating patients with orthopedic pain, post-surgery, vestibular disorders and neurological disorders. She received specialist certification in Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in 2015 after participating in a two-year scholarship program at UNC specific to MS.

 

Dr. Elisa GILLESPIE, PT, DPT, OCS, CMTPT, COMT, LMBT

Owner; Physical Therapist & Massage Therapist

Elisa received her Bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation Science and then went on to complete her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Northeastern University in 2009. She has exclusively worked in outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation settings throughout her career treating patients with musculoskeletal pain and injuries as well as post-surgery. She received APTA Specialist Certification in Orthopedics in 2014. Her passion for helping people through the use of manual therapy led her to pursue a number of post-graduate certifications including Certified Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist- Dry Needling (CMTPT/DN) through Myopain Seminars and Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT) in the Maitland approach. She became a Licensed Massage & Bodywork Therapist to further develop and broaden her therapeutic skill set after completing a 600-hour program at the Therapeutic Massage Training Institute in Charlotte, NC in 2017.
